Materials Testing & Traceability

WHA maintains in-house textile and material testing capability to support the manufacture and quality control of military parachute systems. Incoming materials and production batches can be tested, recorded and traced through manufacturing to the finished product.

In-House Material Verification

WHA parachute systems depend on controlled textile and material performance. Our in-house laboratory supports incoming-material inspection, production quality control and material traceability across the manufacturing process. Testing records are retained within WHA quality systems, allowing applicable material batches to be linked with associated production records and finished products.

Equipment supporting controlled production

Equipment is used according to the applicable internal or product-specific test procedure. These capabilities do not represent a commercial laboratory service or imply an accreditation or standards claim that has not been documented.

Material and textile verification scope

CapabilityTypical Purpose
Mechanical load / tensile testingMaterial strength and load verification using WHA 1-ton and 10-ton mechanical materials testing machines.
Air permeability testingVerification of the rate at which air passes through parachute fabric under controlled test conditions.
Accelerated UV and moisture exposureEvaluation of accelerated environmental ageing through controlled ultraviolet radiation and moisture or simulated rain cycles.
High / low temperature testingControlled exposure from approximately −60°C to above +60°C for material and component behaviour relevant to storage, transport and operational requirements.
Precision weighingMaterial mass, fabric weight or component weight verification where required for incoming inspection, production control or product verification.
Thread / yarn count inspectionOptical inspection of textile construction and thread or yarn count over defined lengths or areas where required by the material specification.

Material Batch Traceability

WHA maintains material identification and production records that allow controlled material batches to be traced through the manufacturing process for applicable current production. Where a fabric or material batch is later identified for investigation, retained records can be used to identify associated production lots and finished products.

Controlled Test Records

Material and test records are retained within WHA internal quality systems to support product history, traceability and future investigation where required. Where applicable, records include the tested material or batch identity, test activity, result and associated production information.

Supporting Military Parachute Manufacturing

The laboratory is part of WHA manufacturing and quality control, not a separate commercial testing business. Its work supports incoming-material verification, textile inspection, production quality control, environmental evaluation, investigation of material deviations, retained test documentation and batch traceability.
