The MC1-1C steerable paratrooper parachute was designed by the US Army in 1988 on the basis of the MC1-1B parachute. It is mainly used in scheduled skydives that require precise and soft landings in small target areas.

Differences between models
MC1-1C: Standard configuration, using low porosity parachute fabric PIA-C-44378.
MC1-1D: Adopts new universal static rope with static rope buckle.
Additional Information:
The basic canopy of the current model is the same as the MC1-1B, but includes drawing changes from 1993, 1995 and 1996, as follows:
- Change the fabric to a 0.5-5.0 CFM porosity.
- The old 11-hole design was changed to 17 holes in 11 of the 30 canopy seams; No. 4 and No. 26 canopy seams each have 3 openings;
- The openings were reinforced with transverse tape on parachute seams Nos. 4 and 26 along the upper edge of the larger opening and the lower edge of the new smaller opening;
- The shorter 22-foot suspension lines are arranged with 8 lines each on the back paracord instead of the previous 7;
- Use a shorter 25-foot control rope;
- Use 11-3/4" long bag straps instead of the old 8-3/4" long bag straps;
- All material color is new U.S. Army No. 504 Foliage Green;
- Added zigzag reinforcement stitches - approximately 30 inches of hanging rope - to main seams 6 to 25 (orifice area only);
- The radial webbing is now cut 2-1/4 inches (17 feet) shorter to ensure fabric fullness along the main seam length.
- Reinforced tape has been added under each lacing line on the inside of the canopy - main seams No. 5 and 6; No. 25 and No. 26.
- Zigzag reinforced stitching on designated main seams provides greater tear resistance.
These changes create a fast-opening canopy with a descent speed of approximately 4 to 5 feet per second and greater maneuverability (forward drive).
